Before you pay
The checks that matter are unglamorous and take ten minutes. See the mother. Read the vaccination card properly — dates and batch numbers, not ticks in boxes. Get the price and inclusions in a message you can scroll back to.
If a seller resists any of those, the resistance is the answer.
After you pay
Register the dog. Which office depends on your address, and the table above covers the areas we deliver to most. Take the vaccination card; the anti-rabies date is the thing the counter actually checks.
Then keep the card. Every future vet, boarding kennel and municipal renewal will ask for it, and reconstructing a vaccination history without it is genuinely difficult.

- Work out what your home can actually take A third-floor flat with no lift rules out a large breed more decisively than any preference does. Be honest about the walking, not aspirational.
- See the mother, in person or on a live call This is the single most useful check available to you. It confirms the puppy is where the seller says it is, and the mother’s condition and temperament tell you a great deal about the puppy’s.
- Get the price and inclusions in writing Even a WhatsApp message is enough. Price, breed, age, which vaccinations are done, delivery arrangement. It protects both sides and gives you something to point at later.
- Check the vaccination card before you take the puppy It should carry dates and batch numbers, not just ticks. Any vet can read the history from it, and you will need it for the municipal licence.
- Collect, or have the puppy hand-carried to you A young dog should travel with a person beside it. We never send one as unaccompanied cargo, whatever the distance.
- Register with your municipal corporation Kolkata Municipal Corporation and each surrounding municipality issue pet licences at the ward office. Take the vaccination card — the anti-rabies date and batch number are what they check.
