Dogs for sale in Durgapur
Durgapur is a hundred and sixty-five kilometres up the expressway from our Birati kennel — five to six hours, a flat ₹1,000. As a planned steel township it has wide avenues and real open ground, making it one of the better places in the state for a large breed.
Delivery is a flat charge by area: free across Kolkata and its suburbs, ₹1,000 elsewhere in West Bengal, and ₹1,500–₹2,000 further afield. Whatever a journey costs beyond that figure, Flower Pets absorbs — the price does not climb with the distance or the size of the dog.
How a puppy reaches Durgapur
Straight up the Durgapur Expressway on NH19 in an air-conditioned car, with one of our handlers travelling alongside the puppy and rest stops every couple of hours. Expressway the entire way, which makes this our fastest long run per kilometre.
Covered areas: City Centre, Bidhannagar, Benachity, Steel Township, Muchipara, Sepco.
Settling a puppy into Durgapur
Durgapur sits inland on the Rarh plain, so the summer heat is dry rather than heavy and the winter is a proper one — December and January nights get genuinely cold by West Bengal standards. That wider range is a real advantage for a coated breed. What makes the biggest practical difference here, though, is the town layout: broad avenues, planted verges and open ground between the sectors mean a large dog can actually be exercised properly every day.

Local things worth knowing
- Durgapur was planned around the steel plant, and the result is unusually generous road width and open ground between sectors. For a large breed that is worth more than any amount of climate advice.
- The Durgapur Municipal Corporation issues the pet licence, and the anti-rabies certificate must be dated within the previous twelve months. Take the vaccination card we supply.
- Winter here is cold enough at night in December and January that a short-coated puppy benefits from bedding off the floor and a covered sleeping area. A coated breed will simply enjoy it.
- The expressway runs the whole way from Kolkata, which makes this our most time-predictable long delivery. We can give you an arrival window and hold to it within about half an hour.
Buying a puppy in Durgapur
A hundred and sixty-five kilometres of expressway, five to six hours, handler alongside the puppy throughout. Because the route is expressway end to end, this is the long delivery where we can be most precise about arrival time.
The township layout does the work
Durgapur was designed around the steel plant, and whoever laid it out was generous with road width and open ground. That single fact makes it one of the better places in West Bengal to keep a large dog — the daily exercise a German Shepherd or a Golden Retriever needs is something the town actually accommodates rather than something you have to engineer.
The inland winter
December and January nights here are properly cold by state standards. Coated breeds enjoy it. Short-coated puppies want bedding off the floor and somewhere covered to sleep, and that is the whole adjustment.
Asansol and Bardhaman sit on the same road and share the same pattern.

Buying and delivery in Durgapur — questions
How much does a dog cost in Durgapur?
The same as at our Kolkata kennel: ₹6,000–₹85,000 depending on the breed, plus ₹1,000 for hand-carried delivery to Durgapur. For example, a Labrador ₹12,000–₹18,000, a German Shepherd ₹18,000–₹30,000, an Indian Spitz ₹6,000–₹12,000. Every price includes vaccination and deworming to date, and nothing is added at the door.
How long does a puppy take to reach Durgapur?
Five to six hours from our Birati kennel. It is expressway the whole way, so the arrival window is reliable to within about half an hour.
Is Durgapur good for a large breed?
It is one of the best places in the state for one. The planned township layout gives you wide avenues and open ground between sectors, so daily exercise for a German Shepherd or Golden Retriever is genuinely practical.
What does delivery to Durgapur cost?
A flat ₹1,000, regardless of breed or crate size, confirmed before you pay anything. The real cost of the run is higher and we cover the balance ourselves.
Is the Durgapur winter cold enough to matter?
For a coated breed it is a bonus. For a short-coated puppy it just means bedding raised off the floor and a covered sleeping spot through December and January.
