Dogs for sale in Haldia
Haldia is a hundred and twenty-five kilometres from our Birati kennel, four to five hours by road at a flat ₹1,000. Being a coastal port township, the salt in the air is the one genuinely local factor — a rinse after a riverside walk deals with it.
Delivery is a flat charge by area: free across Kolkata and its suburbs, ₹1,000 elsewhere in West Bengal, and ₹1,500–₹2,000 further afield. Whatever a journey costs beyond that figure, Flower Pets absorbs — the price does not climb with the distance or the size of the dog.
How a puppy reaches Haldia
By road via Kolaghat and NH116 in an air-conditioned car, with one of our handlers travelling alongside the puppy and rest stops on the way. Deliveries into the industrial townships take a few extra minutes at the gate.
Covered areas: Haldia township, Durgachak, Sutahata, Chaitanyapur, Basudevpur, Manjushree.
Settling a puppy into Haldia
Haldia sits where the Hooghly meets the sea, which means humidity stays high through most of the year and there is salt in the air near the waterfront. Neither is a problem, but both reward a habit: rinse the coat with fresh water after a walk along the riverside, and dry it properly rather than leaving it damp. Indoors, keep the sleeping area raised off bare concrete during the monsoon and the puppy will settle far more comfortably.

Local things worth knowing
- Company townships here — IOCL, HPL and the rest — set their own rules about keeping animals in allotted quarters. Check yours with the estate office before choosing a breed, as some restrict size.
- Salt carries in the air near the waterfront. A rinse with fresh water after a riverside walk keeps it off the coat and out of the paw pads, which is a five-second job that saves a lot of skin irritation.
- The Haldia Development Authority area is planned and low-rise with reasonable open ground, which makes exercising a dog here easier than the older parts of Purba Medinipur.
- Humidity is high enough year-round that bedding raised off the floor genuinely matters during the monsoon — more so here than anywhere else we deliver in the south of the state.
Buying a puppy in Haldia
A four to five hour road run via Kolaghat, with the puppy travelling alongside a handler. Haldia is our only genuinely coastal delivery point, and that is the one thing that changes the advice.
Salt, damp and the two habits that handle both
Air near the waterfront carries salt, and the humidity here stays high for most of the year. Neither is a reason to reconsider a breed. Both are reasons to build two small habits: rinse the coat with fresh water after a riverside walk, and keep the sleeping area raised off bare concrete through the monsoon.
Township housing
Most of our Haldia buyers live in company quarters, and the allotment rules on keeping animals vary between employers. It is a two-minute question to the estate office and a much harder conversation once the puppy is home.

Buying and delivery in Haldia — questions
How much does a dog cost in Haldia?
The same as at our Kolkata kennel: ₹6,000–₹85,000 depending on the breed, plus ₹1,000 for hand-carried delivery to Haldia. For example, a Labrador ₹12,000–₹18,000, a German Shepherd ₹18,000–₹30,000, an Indian Spitz ₹6,000–₹12,000. Every price includes vaccination and deworming to date, and nothing is added at the door.
How long does delivery to Haldia take?
Four to five hours from our Birati kennel by road via Kolaghat, with a handler travelling alongside the puppy and rest stops on the way.
Does the coastal air in Haldia affect a dog?
Only through the coat and paws. Salt carries in the air near the waterfront, so a fresh-water rinse after a riverside walk is worth doing — it takes seconds and prevents most skin irritation.
Can I keep a dog in Haldia company quarters?
Usually, but IOCL, HPL and the other township allotments each set their own rules and some restrict breed size. Ask the estate office before you choose.
What does puppy delivery to Haldia cost?
A flat ₹1,000, the same for every breed. Confirmed before you pay anything and unchanged afterwards — we carry whatever the journey costs beyond it.
